Daily Danish Pod
A language learning podcast, for beginners, focusing on everyday scenarios.
Join Victoria, your Danish teacher, and Andrew, your fellow learner, as they work through the conversations you'll actually need in everyday life. From ordering a coffee and shopping at the supermarket to introducing yourself, each episode focuses on practical, high-frequency situations you'll encounter in Denmark.
Daily Danish Pod is a language learning podcast for absolute beginners, but learners of all levels can benefit from our focus on pronunciation and word and phrase variations.
Whether you've just moved to Denmark, are planning a visit, or simply want to build confidence speaking Danish, we're here to help.
Our goal isn't to make you fluent overnight. Instead, we want to help you take those important first steps and give you the confidence to start speaking. Many people aren't ready to chat with Danish friends on day one, but you can absolutely learn how to order food, ask simple questions, and navigate daily life.
Each episode builds on the last, introducing new vocabulary while constantly revisiting previous words and phrases through repetition. You can jump into any episode, but listening in order will give you the best learning experience.
So come with us on your Danish language journey. Listen, repeat, rewind, and don't be afraid to speak. The more you hear it, the more natural it becomes.
Get talking!
If you're enjoying the podcast, we'd love to hear from you. Leave a review, share it with another Danish learner, and let us know what everyday situations you'd like us to cover next.

During the conversation at the bar, I'm ordering one beer. But what if I'm getting a round for friends and need a few more?
SPEAKER_02Well, Andrew, you are in luck because for this episode, we'll be learning the numbers up to ten. Before we start, I just want to point out that the number one is a little special because it's both ein and it. And Andrew, do you remember when we know whether to use een or it in front of a noun?
SPEAKER_00Well, in Danish we have two genders. Common gender, which is the most frequent, has the article in. So for example, in a beer. A neuter gender has the e t article, it in the front. So for example, it glass vin a glass of wine.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, re god, really good. So let's go over the numbers. First we have one in or it the word for two is to three is tre four feet is fem six six the word for seven is such eight is odd and nine is knee and finally ten is T. So to recap ain or it two three fem.
SPEAKER_00So one little interesting tidbit is that the words for most liquids in Danish are the same in both singular and plural. So you have more than one, you don't need to worry about changing the word. For example, in o one beer, fem o five beers.
SPEAKER_02Sadan, way to go, Andrew.
SPEAKER_00I can't wait to order T o the next time I go to the bar.
SPEAKER_02Skipping ahead to some complicated numbers. In the dialogue at the bar, the total came out to tre huno fi. Try to listen again as I say the words slowly and see if you can recognize any of the numbers. Tre huno fi. Yes.
SPEAKER_00But then you mention. Am I saying that right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Huno.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so meaning a hundred.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Huno means a hundred.
SPEAKER_00So trei huno means three hundred. And then we had a phi at the end, which means four. So the total came up to be three hundred and four kroner.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Trying to keep it real with actual Copenhagen prices here.
